Hold on Tight
By Grayson Russell
I was just a young boy when my momma took me to my first county fair
Sights smells and music dancing in the air
I was so excited to try it all for the first time
Mamma hurry hurry , catch me if you can
She said take my hand, we’ll see it all together
Hold on tight and don’t let go
We’ve got time to get there
Don’t be in a rush where you wanna go
Hold on tight and don’t let go
When I was a young man I fell in love with the girl of my dreams
Together we thought that we could take on the world
I was in a hurry to, well, you know….
She said “buddy where’s the fire, how about a kiss”
Take my hand, we’ll take our time
Time slips away so fast
Enjoy the trip make it last

The Kid in the Cape
by
Grayson Russell
Well he’s a big, tough, superhero, fighter of crime
He’s got a supersonic rocket bike that travels through time
It runs on milk and cookies, and let me tell you mister
He’s got a trusty sidekick and she’s his little sister
Fastened round his neck with safety pins and tape
Don’t ever underestimate the kid in the cape.
Running warp speed through the living room
You’ll never see them coming you’ll just hear the sonic boom
Biff, bam, pow, he’s got the villains on the run
Taking down the bad guys with his laser gun
When he gets them in his tractor beam they can’t escape
Don’t ever underestimate the kid in the cape
Chorus
He’s the kid in the cape and he’s fighting crime
Rounding up the bad guys one tail at a time
He’s the sworn protector of the whole galaxy too
Even talks to Santa on a satellite shoe
He won’t be defeated by a cut or a scrape
Don’t ever underestimate the kid in the cape
When the sky is getting dark and the sun is sinking down
Command is yelling out a message, “turn the rocket bike around”
Dock at secret station and debrief for the day
Jump in the antimatter decontamination spray
Double check for aliens between your toes and on your head
Hey, even super heroes brush their teeth and go to bed
Extended Chorus
It’s Saturday and all the crooks are on the loose
The kid and his trusty sidekick going to cook their goose
Sworn protector of the whole galaxy too
Even talks to Santa on his satellite shoe
Whoa! Ditch the rocket bike dad just came pulling in
Grab the fishing poles and let’s go reel some in
Have some chips and soda maybe ice cream too
Even talk to grandpa on the satellite shoe
Fastened round his neck with safety pins and tape
Don’t ever underestimate the kid in the cape.

Under The Bus
By Grayson Russell
Pardon me if I seem off track
It’s hard to smile with this knife in my back
You slipped me the noose and then you cinched the knot
True to style, you bid your time
The way you played it, it was so sublime
I swore looking over my shoulders both your hands were there.
You threw me under the bus
Under the bus
Now you are a big man in town
Talking trash and throwing your weight around
Riding high on someone else’s sweat
You think I’m gone, HA, don’t count me out yet
You threw me under the bus
Under the bus
Ha, guitars.
Oo Ah Under The Bus
Under The Bus

This Ain’t Love
By Grayson Russell
Well you’ve got yourself all kinds of confused
How do YOU like being the one that’s gettin’ used?
This ain’t love now baby, no no
I’m not sure what this is, but this ain’t love
Now don’t look at me in that tone of voice
And don’t try to pretend that this was not your choice
This ain’t love now mama, no no
Whatever this is, it aims to poison your heart
You say you’re looking for a knight on a big white steed
Let me tell you honey I gots all you need
This ain’t love now baby, no no
I’m not sure what this is, but this ain’t love
Now listen here
Before we walk this road, you better think twice
It might just turn your heart as cold as ice
This ain’t love now mama, this ain’t love
I’m not sure what this is, but this ain’t love
This ain’t love
No, this ain’t love

Train, Keep a Rollin’
By Grayson Russell
Train, keep a rollin
Keep this boxcar rollin down the line
Train, keep a rollin
Take me to my baby right on time
Train, keep a rollin
Keep this boxcar rollin down the line
Train, keep a rollin
Take me to my baby right on time
Moonlight is shining through the timbers on this old torn photograph that’s in my hand
Lord, can’t wait to see her
So I can hold her in my arms again
Train, keep a rollin
Keep this boxcar rollin down the line
Train, keep a rollin
Take me to my baby right on time
It’s been so long since I’ve seen her and I don’t know if she still remembers me
Train don’t forsake me
Take me to my gal in Tennessee
Steel wheels of thunder carry me across these misty hills
Oh, morning sunshine, heating up and taking off the chill
Train, keep a rollin
Keep this boxcar rollin down the line
Train, keep a rollin
Take me to my baby right on time
We’re just minutes from the station and minutes from the one I love so dear
Train blow your whistle so I can let my baby know I’m here
So I can let my baby know I’m here
So I can let my baby know I’m here

If It Ain’t Broke
By Grayson Russell
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If your heart ain’t broke she’s gonna fix it till it is
My buddy Joe, he’s my fishin’ pal
He got married to a fine young gal
Things went south and she let him go
Now Joe don’t feel like fishin’ no more
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If your heart ain’t broke she’s gonna fix it till it is
My other pal Jim, he drinks all day
Been a couple years since he’s been that way
He was supposed to get married but she ran away
I think ol Jim dodged a bullet that day
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If your heart ain’t broke she’s gonna fix it till it is
Well check out this beauty that just walked in
A guy on her arm with a silly grin
Let me tell you boys, she sure is fine
Before she broke my heart, well she said she was mine!
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If it ain’t broke
If your heart ain’t broke she’s gonna fix it till it is

The Call of the Highway
By Grayson Russell
It come on strong like a fever, it come on strong like a dream
It come on strong like a hurricane putting on a head of steam
Pulling me out to the highway, taking me out on the road
Taking me away to a better place where I can just lighten the load
The heat shimmers off the highway, the sun burns high in the sky
Ghosts dance around and they change their shapes and I sure can’t tell you why
All I know is that I want you; all I know is that I do
All I know is that I’m burning up the road just so I can be with you
The call of the highway, the call of the road
The call of the highway, the call of the road
I don’t need no suitcase and I sure don’t need no car
All I need is in these saddlebags and strapped on the handlebars
1200 miles lay behind me, I’ve got a thousand more miles to shed
I’ve got the devil on my ass and the throttle on the peg and my freedom waiting up ahead
The call of the highway, the call of the road
The call of the highway, the call of the road
It ain’t no matter if you shouldn’t and it ain’t no matter if you should
There ain’t but one judge your going to answer to when the sleep takes you down for good
So ride em all out to the desert boys, ride em all out to the sea
Ride em all out so you can clear your heads and set your poor souls free
The call of the highway, the call of the road
The call of the highway, the call of the road
